Hygiene and epidemiology

The training of medical personnel in this specialty has been conducted since 1939. The term of study is 2 years 10 months (based on 11 classes).

In practical classes, students work with the documents of the sanitary legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, learn to draw up acts of sanitary inspection and other documents of the sanitary service, sampling air, water, food products, taking washings from inventory, equipment, etc.

For better training of specialists in this specialty, professional competitions are organized and held, they participate in the annual Republican competitions “The best hygienist-epidemiologist of the year”, which is held among graduates.

The training of future specialists is carried out by teachers with experience in practical health care Sembaeva M.K. – excellent health worker, Sisenbaeva K.K., Apieva Zh.I., chairman of the cyclic methodological commission of the KMN Sarsenbaeva M.Z., doctors of medical sciences Seidumanov S.T., Tezekbaeva Zh.G. and others.

Graduates are awarded the qualification “hygienist-epidemiologist” according to GOSO-2010. Our graduates make up the majority of employees of the departments of sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, disinfection and anti-plague stations, healthy lifestyle centers, sanitary and hygienic laboratories, where they work as leading specialists, disinstructors, medical statisticians, laboratory assistants, as well as epidemiologists in medical organizations.
